Michelle says: Sylvester was going to be put to sleep at the local shelter because he was a bottle baby. Any kittens under one pound and not eating on their own are automatically put to sleep. Sometimes they call the rescues, but sadly they don't really have the employee bandwidth. So he just happened to be very lucky that a rescue was there that day volunteering. He was brought to my husband and me to care for.

What a spoiled and silly boy he turned into! He was a cuddler and super talkative. He loved to chase feathers, play with toys, sneak and pounce. His favorite "toy" was his foster sibling Debbie! He'd like to be held but then he would DART off to lay and wrestle with her. We nicknamed him Gonzo because he was totally nutso. But really cute. He was adopted with another kitten from another foster home.

What a little face! I had a black and white tuxedo kitty in college (hid him in my dorm room for a semester) and his name was Sylvester too. I hope this little guy makes his new home really happy and full of fun.

What a great kitty. So shelters have rules for execution like the one you mention--I am sickened. How can they be called shelters when they are just concentration camps. Thank you for saving this adorable scamp Sylvester!

....hehe what an adorable and character kitty - i love those long white whiskers growing in every direction - well done for rescuing him - it just goes to show that not everyone that has a late start in life needs to be put down.

It makes me ill to think that so much love, joy and cuteness could have been snuffed out because of a lack of "employee bandwidth". Thank God for you and all those who rescue these innocent babes. Sylvester/Gonzo is one lucky, lucky kitten and so are the people who adopted him.

Sylvester is absolutely precious! I've found tuxedo-type kitties to be especially precocious, and Sylvester seems to be no exception to the rule. I'm so glad he was saved from euthanasia - that would have been such a terrible loss!

He looks just like my Maukie, another unwanted kitten who, with his two brothers, was going to be left outside to fend for himself in December in Northern Minnesota because the people who had them couldn't give them away. He is also a great cuddler and very sweet.
