Diesel [redux]

Erin says: Diesel is a 13-week-old girl who is about the size of an eight-week-old kitten. She was born a barn cat, and was nearly starved from having to compete with the adult cats and three other kittens for food. I took her from the barn when the resident tom started to beat her up, and she was not getting anywhere near enough food. Her tail curls up over her back like a husky, and I think the big guy may have broken it at one point when he was picking on her.

She purrs like a semi truck when she is happy and has just learned how to play. Before, she had no clue! She lives with me and my three parrots, who she likes to watch but knows better than to mess with. Smart as a whip, she got the litter box in one day and has never made a mistake. She has proven that she was supposed to be a housecat! Right now she is sleeping on her back in my lap, purring. If I moved now, she would cry. She is a lover, not a fighter!

When you get a chance, you might ask the vet to x-ray that tail. Later in life she can get arthritis from that break. In that case, if you stroke her on the arthritic break, it will hurt.

So Diesel is a female long-haired black tuxedo cattie with a loud purr. How do you train or breed a cat to purr loudly? Hope you had her fixed...or breed this beauty. And keep that long fur combed, she's gorgeous!

Nasty old tom cat, they can be horrid. Hope he gets what's coming to him (neutering!) and stops bothering the kitties! I have three cats with differing purr levels. Smooch has a deep rumbling purr, Misty a loud purr and Shelby a quiet, almost asthmatic purr! I love them all! I'm glad you rescued Diesel and she now has a loving home. She's very pretty!
