Bennett74 says: I first saw Titan on facebook. A friend had put up a photo of her kittens after they were born. After a lot of thought, i decided to adopt one. I like cats that are of unusual color or a bit different to the norm. We went to pick up Titan at four weeks old (as friend was going overseas). He was so small and delicate. I picked him up and he let out these little yelps and cries. I felt so bad taking him from his mother that I decided to adopt his little sister Ruby as well.

They both settled in well. Eating and toileting came naturally, just with a few little mishaps here and there. The only thing they haven't quite learnt yet is to self groom and clean. Titan makes me laugh. He looks like a drowned rat after trying to clean his face. I'm starting to think Titan is actually a girl, but his/her name so suits her now, ill keep her name as Titan. She has quite a big personality for such a little girl, completely different to her sister. She loves to get into everything, investigate it, and chew it. She loves to sneak up on Ruby and pounce on her. Titan and Ruby have brought alot joy to our home. I could sit and watch them all day.

Judging by the colouring, Titan is indeed a girl. As for being only four weeks old when you got her and her sister, that's not good, but I take it there wasn't any other choice. Titan sure is cute though.

I wonder if the quality of the fur, medium long and maybe an undercoat, makes self-cleaning a little harder.

Titan is most likely a girl since she is a calico colored kitten. She is an adorable little kitten and I can easily see why you would fall in love with her.

So very cute, wonderful pics; it was very difficult to choose a favorite one. So glad Titan has her sister to play with.

4 weeks is really young to be taking them from their mother... It's recommended to wait until at LEAST 6 weeks, preferably 8. However, as Leonie said, it doesn't sound like there was another option... :-/

With this coloring - calico she is a girl. Kittens learn a lot from their mothers and ideally should be allowed to stay with Mom until 12 weeks although some people take them at 8 weeks. I hope your kitties are still doing well. Blessings.

P.S. Cats are excellent mothers and teach their babies many things, which is one reason why they should stay with Mom as long as possible.

It was difficult, but I love this picture of the scruffy Titan. So nice of you to adopt her sister too.

Girl Cat's Mom -
Titan is likely a girl or a very rare male calico. And very, very cute.
It is now cusotmary to wait until the babies are older - but years ago month old kittens were given away were common. They are lucky to have found parents like you. And at some point they will learn to wash )I hope :})

Sure wish folks would simply enjoy the kitten pix - the gratuitous tsk tsking and holier than thou comments are rude. These are beloved kittens. Not strays.
