Misty and her brother Shelby were two of five kittens born to a pure white mother at the Horowhenua Animal Rescue Society Inc (Levin, NZ). She used to love Shelby and spend all her time curled up next to him, but now at the age of eight she hisses at him for no reason! Despite being fed the same, she is a lot smaller than Shelby and people think she is still a kitten! She is a smoke tabby, so when you part her black fur, it's only black on the tips and she's white underneath. She lives on a lifestyle block with Shelby and Smooch.

Thank you! They are very, very loved by me and my husband. Misty was overwhelmed with being a famous internet star tonight and had to curl up on her dad's knee for a snuggle!

I just love this photo. What is a life style block? Now that Misty is 8 years old, maybe she has a health issue, that makes her cranky at times, and causes her to hiss at Shelby. I have enjoyed hearing about these adorable catties for the last few days. Thank you for sharing.

I think Misty would be happiest as an only cat! Shelby tends to push in when they are eating or sit right in front of her bed (logical - it's the closest to the fire!) and I think she would prefer he kept his distance! They don't fight as such, it's more "go away brother!" All have been neutered and for the most part they get on really well. With three acres there is plenty of room for all of them! I bought the beanbag beds for the two cats my husband had when I met him and he scoffed and said "they won't sleep on those!" Within minutes his two cats were curled up asleep on them and you couldn't move them! We got Smooch later, and when the other two cats died we got Shelby and Misty. They all love the beanbags but now Smooch has decided as cushion covered with an old jersey in my study is her preferred spot!

So wonderful that you adopted siblings ... love forever even if they do squabble. (My twins are like that). But there can't be much to squabble about! Your house looks like heaven on earth!
