Lily was only a few weeks old when my husband and I first met her. She was an orphan kitten who was dropped off in a box at an office building. Unfortunately we don't know where she came from, but we're glad she was found! She weighed less than a pound when we met her.
Since she was so little she sadly ended up becoming very sick. My husband and I took her home temporarily until she became healthy again. We already have three cats at home so the option of keeping her as a fourth cat was not a possibility.
Lily was too weak to eat on her own so we had to force feed her kitten formula with an eye drop and eventually a kitten bottle. After a few days we saw a lot of progress with her. We soon discovered that she was a very adventurous kitten!
The plan was to only take her in for a couple weeks until we found her a forever home. Well a few weeks went by and neither my husband or I brought up the idea of finding her another home. People started to ask if we were going to keep her so we started calling her our "long term temporary kitten." After a a month or two we decided that she already made her place here so a fourth cat was added to our family and we couldn't be happier.
She's about ten months old now and barely six pounds so she'll always be our "large kitten.'' She melted our hearts from the first day we saw her and we're so glad that she made her way into our home!
