Renata says: Milky is a cream-point Birman and the sweetest cat ever! Some people say they prefer dogs to cats because cats are indifferent and dogs always show happiness when you get home and such. Milky is the proof that this is a myth. Every time I arrive at home he comes running to me, meowing, just like he was saying he missed me and wants to be petted urgently. He's sweet and lovely in every way. ;)

I have fallen in love... What a beautiful flame point Birman! Looking at his sweet expression, he is as pretty inside as out. I have always wanted a Birman, especially if I could get one as sweet at this guy. Many happy years with your gorgeous boy:)

Milky is beautiful!

Regarding being affectionate, the issue is people expect cats to react like pack animals (dogs, and you could say humans fit that description). Cats have different biology and culture and they respond differently and show affection differently than dogs or wolves.

The well-known 'head bonk' and nose rub are two examples - of instinctive behaviors being used for emotional expression. Also "love nips" fit that category. Even sitting on the keyboard or by your chair all the time are ways of showing affection. You just have to be aware of the different body language and ways of expression related to their biology and "culture".

Dogs fawning all over people are just as much instinctive as anything shown by cats - and just as learned (or transferred). For instance, dogs licking the human's face/mouth area is the way wild puppies get their sire/dam to regurgitate meat they may have brought home in their stomach. It's now referred to as "kisses" and thought of as an expression of affection.

Something to think about: Milky may be lonely during the day... cats, contrary to public opinion, are social creatures and do best in situations where there is at least one other. That doesn't take away from the obvious affection, but if Milky seems a bit desperate at times, it's something to consider.

Milky is a beautiful cattie. Since I see pictures of him outdoors I hope you live on a farm. If not I would hope you will consider making him an indoor kitty where he will live a longer, safer, healthier life.
