India's Kittens: Oracle [3]

Irina says: Oracle is our biggest kitten for now. The size of his paws and clutches seems impresses on Oracle himself. :-) But he is very kind and gentle like every good Maine Coon has to be. Oracle likes people attention, combings and especially loves to have his belly tickled. He is able to chirp like a bird if he wants to show his love. His mother India also can sound like a pigeon sometimes and I love it. These sounds are so beautiful. Oracle's future is not clear yet, but we hope he will be very happy because such a cat is able to make everyone besides him a bit more happy.

Oracle's "future is not clear"--You mean whether you will breed him, or how much you will charge? Perhaps he will be a show cat.

You know, I see comments that breeding is wrong, but I think a good breeding program that improves the genes and breeding of cats is a good thing. It is the indiscriminate breeding by ferals and owners who neglect or refuse to spay/neuter that is the problem. We need more responsible breeding and no irresponsible pet owners allowing their pets to roam free. I love the "accidental" kittens, but there should be no accidental breeding at all.

He is a cute boy but you know there are cats just as cute at the shelter that really need to be adopted and loved. Every purchase from a breeder means death to a shelter animal. Think before you talk about breeding being good. There are too many homeless animals to breed for MONEY.

He is probably 3 years od now. I hope he was adopted as a pet and not as a breeder male. He is beautiful as are all of India's kittens but they are full grown now.

#JayPea--Those are interesting points you made, but they ignore the problem. Should we euthanize those ill-bred kitties? My main objection to these breeders is that they are ads for the catteries. I don't want ads on GMK! We are suffocating in ads as it is.
