Betsy says: Ebony was named for her nearly solid black nose, in order to distinguish her from her sister Ivory, whose nose was nearly solid white. Ebony seemed to have a perpetual smile on her face, which I just adored. She was adopted by a family in September, but apparently was quite traumatized by the adopting family's two young children. Sadly, in late March, the family returned her to us. After being back with us for a week, she had calmed down considerably and was back to being the loving kitten we'd so carefully raised. Ebony is in the care of a new foster family for the time being, but we are confident she will find a forever home soon.

I was so sad when I read cute little Ebony's story - I would have adopted her myself if I lived in the same Country - So glad Ebony is safe now and finds a forever home soon*

Actually, I held something back. I remembered one of my grandchildren hassling my little Benny and just felt sick about it.

Children need to be taught and told up front that a kitten or cat is NOT A TOY, but a living and loving member of the family that deserves respect too.

I hope that a decent family comes along that Ebony falls in love with!

Glad they returned this poor kitten. When my kids were little they were taught it was not a toy and if it would hurt them if someone would do it from them (hitting, punching, throwing or pulling hair and pinching) it would hurt the kitten too so that was a no can do. Shame on those people!

She really is gorgeous and deserves a better home than that other family gave her. Sounds like they are raising losers if they can't teach those brats to behave properly with animals. Their loss and Ebony's eventually gain.
