Skittles and Skitzo [4]

Kristen says: Last Easter, the family cat, Mischief, passed away at the age of 16, and we still miss her very much. After her passing, nothing felt right in the Birdsey household. I spent the next month or so searching cat shelters hoping to adopt a kitten, and after two failed adoptions, I discovered a family of kittens on Petfinder. Two little gray-and-black kittens caught my eye. It didn't take much to convince my parents that we shouldn't separate them and instead try to adopt both of them. So we called the shelter and found out they had been separated to two different foster homes. Luckily they were able to reunite them so we could adopt the two of them. When we picked them up and brought them home, it didn't take them very long to get acquainted with their new surroundings. They may be hard to tell apart at times now that they are both all black, but their personalities are very different. Skitzo, the boy, is a bit odd. He loves meeting new people, belly rubs, catnip, drinking out of the faucet, and saving us from bugs. He's not a big lap cat, but he loves being picked up and cuddled. Skittles, the girl, is just as strange as Skitzo. She's a little bit more skittish, but she always wants to play or cuddle down in a warm lap. She's also more vocal than Skitzo, squeaking whenever she wants attention. They are always getting into trouble, but they know there's nothing they could do to make us love them less. Even now that they're grown up, they still love each other and cuddle whenever possible, just as they did when they were babies.
