Michelle says: Ali, her two brothers, and her sister Penelope were all rescued off a sidewalk. Someone with good intentions had brought them in but sadly hadn't waited to see if momma cat would come back before doing so ( a lof of effort went into trying to locate momma cat to bring her in to nurse the kittens, but no luck). The two boys went to one foster home, and the two girls came to our foster home for bottle feeding. Everything seemed fine until they turned five weeks old when Penelope's heart gave out. =( We were devastated. This was the first time my husband had experienced a kitten passing in his hands. It was heartbreaking. We decided to have our veterinarian do a necropsy (an autopsy for animals). He found that her heart had defects and there was nothing that could have been done. While we felt better that it wasn't anything we could have prevented, we were still sad...but we know she died in our home, very loved. Ali (Aligator, rawr!!!) thrived and was adopted to a home with another kitty. Her brothers were adopted together and we saw a video of them riding on a roomba! Silly boys. ;-)
