Plumbago is also a type of flowering shrub, sometimes with very pretty blue flowers. Perhaps he was named that because of his blue eyes?

All the comments above were so much fun! I have never before seen a baby Devon Rex (just as I have never seen a baby pigeon) but naturally they must exist. Plum is lovely.
