Lil' Girl and her Siblings

Jason says: Lil' Girl is one of four kittens that I bottle fed. The mother came and had them under my house and before I could get them set up in my garage a group of stray dogs killed her. I grieved over her for a long time. She was a young cat and had barely lived and had these kittens and then died defending them. I still feel like I let her down in her moment of need. I made it out there too late to save her, but she did save her kittens. Everyone that saw them said they wouldn't live, but I wasn't going to give up on them. She didn't.

There were two black kittens (one male, one female), an almost-all-white female, and then Lil' Girl (a black-and-white female who looked just like her mother who was also called Lil' Girl). Their adoptive dad Nick was very open to the kittens. He played with them and was very protective until he started having his problems at the end. He still tried to play with them up until his final stroke. I raised the kittens and found good homes for three of them and kept Lil' Girl with me. I have to say she has been a godsend. She brings me joy every day.

I have my own Lil Girl called Misty and she looks a lot like this cutie. How sad about their mother being killed, that was so heartbreaking to read, but I am so glad the babies survived with your help.

I coudn't chose a picture as all of the kitties are so beautiful and it would not have been fair - your story really touched my heart and i thank you for sharing this with us - you;ve done a great job and i'm sure the mum is really pleased out there watching over her little babies.

Lil Girl 1 (mom) has crossed the rainbow bridge, she defended her young but lost her life. She is free to play in a much bigger yard. Gone but never to be forgotten, she plays with Nick.

You did a really good job. I love black and whites. I have a 14 year old tuxedo with a black spot on her chin just like the mama kitty. I also have a 15 year old black male cat and two younger tabbies. Hooray for you. You did great.

I had something similar happen, with my Jack and Jasper, their Mom and litter mates were killed. It's so hard and heart-breaking. But, thank you for saving these little, fluffy, balls of love.

Just an update.. Lil' girl is doing well and all her siblings are doing great as well in each of their families. I have rescued two new kittens that found their way to my house during the coldest part of the winter. They were both about frozen and close to being starved to death but with some tlc they are both doing great. I had plans of finding them homes but got too attached so now they are here with little girl Backy and Marley are they newest editions, how these cats know to come here I will never know, but they do...

Jason, these kittens are so beautiful and what an amazing job you did with them. You are certainly a loving individual to take the time to feed them and care for them. Yes, the story is sad, but you did all you could do for them, my friend. My heart goes out to you and the kittens!
