Bethany says: Ever since I was ten years old I have yearned for an all-white kitten that has blue eyes. As you can imagine, I was ecstatic to adopt Nermal! Nermal is ten weeks old. I adopted him from a shelter called A Purrfect Start in Columbus, Ohio. He was one of nine kittens in his litter. The mother was a stray that had jumped into a Columbus man’s truck. The man took her home where she gave birth to nine babies, seven all-white and two tortoiseshell. The kittens were all given Star Wars themed names, but I changed Han's name to Nermal after my favorite Garfield character.

Nermal was the smallest boy but he is full of energy! I have only had him a week but love him very much. He loves to jump and play and still attempts to nurse on my ears which always makes me laugh. Nermal, or Nermy for short, is still a little timid around new things both indoors and out but is slowly coming out of his shell. A friend and I just took him to the park by my house for the first time. It took him awhile to warm up to being in the “wild," but his curiosity got the best of him and eventually he started to explore. Nermy is also a big cuddler who likes to sleep on my shoulder, in my armpit, or right under my chin. He is a real momma’s boy!

It's obvious you love your little boy.Perhaps he had his protective shots at the rescue centre but if he didn't, wait until he has them before you take him out again. There's a lot of bacteria and other nasties out in the big wide world and he's just a baby. So beautiful. Glad your dream came true.

Too cute! Nermal is adorable and I love his harness and leash. We take our cats with us in our motor home and have leash trained them, too. They love to go on woodland walks and sniff the flowers just like your Nermy. Our boy also likes to be carried in a baby sling or ride in a stroller.

Such a cutie. Kudos to you for adopting from a shelter! Hope if he's not already; you have him neutered in part to help relieve the need for more shelters that are already overwhelmed.

So glad that Nermal has time to "stop and smell" the flowers. I am so glad that you put him on a leash. I waited too long before trying and my cattie just slouched to the ground and refused to walk. He is a real handsome cattie. Glad that you got him.

Nermal is gorgeous! I tried to get one of my cats to wear a harness and leash once - she was NOT having that and did what Kibblegirl's cat did! The harness is so cute on Nermal and he seems very happy to be out and about. Make sure you look after his ears and nose - white cats unfortunately can suffer skin cancers there. But he's obviously loved so I doubt he'll ever suffer anything other than an overdose of love!

Hi there, I am the foster mom for your Nermal & I cannot tell you how happy I am to see that he has found a wonderful, loving home. This was the first time we've fostered and this litter made our hearts melt. If you are interested, I have pictures from their birth and ever week after.
