Sarajevo was brought in the local Petco one Saturday while I happened to be there buying cat food for my other two girls. She had been attacked by a pit bull puppy. The local rescue group (PALS) didn't think she would survived so I volunteered to take her home to see what I could do. The following Monday I dropped her off at my local vet to have her evaluated and went off to work. I hadn't named her when the vet techs asked for her name so I told them I had been calling her "Dog food" all weekend. I guess my sense of humor is a bit arcane, they did not think it was funny and told me to come up with a real name when I picked her up that night. She had bites all over her little body, fleas, earmites, worms and was malnourished. I chose Sarajevo for two reasons, she had been through quite a battle and it was December and one of my favorite Christmas songs is TSO's Christmas Eve in Sarajevo. She is full of energy and loves to torment my other two cats. She is also very affectionate with us. She is still quite jumpy if anyone makes a sudden move or noise and she DOES NOT like dogs.
