Nemo was born with basically a deformed leg, as you can see in some of his photos. It took him longer than the others to learn to walk and run correctly. The vet staff decided to give him some time too see if it would correct itself before they resorted to amputation of the lower part of his leg. We wanted to avoid this the best we could, and when we noticed he wouldn't step down in his paw pads, we stepped in and basically started doing little sessions with him where we'd make him use his paw. If he didn't start using it, it would never correct itself. Luckily, after a few weeks, we noticed his leg starting to straighten out, and he was using it more effectively. It was decided that amputation was no longer necessary :) He continued to develop perfectly normal.
Nemo was a really sweet, laid back kitten who loved to just hang out with people. He also loved to play with the baby sparrow we were raising at the time, and was very gentle with her. From what I can recall, he was adopted very quickly.
