Diana says: Max is a dear wee chap we got from the Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals here in Auckland, New Zealand. He is not only beautiful but the most gentle and fun-loving kitty in the world. Nickname: Dudipus Max.
Wow! Max is astonishing. Here his expression captures the wild side of cats. I also love him drinking water out of a glass. Must try that with my water-phobic boys.
Indeed, as has been previously commented, he does look like a Russian Blue. Not just because he's gray - I have a gray cat, and I definitely don't think she's Russian Blue (or Chartreux, another all-gray cat breed). It's more about the face and body shape - they are very Russian Blue-like.
We have a Russian Blue named Lumpy at our house. He's at least 15 years old and he prefers his water to be in a cup (freshly poured for each session) on the bathroom counter! He is so smart is so many ways. Enjoy your Max to the max!
Beautiful little boy! Reminds me of my American Blue, Harlan. He was a little shy with strangers, but was super affectionate once he got to know you. He was named after once of my favorite authors, Harlan Ellison.
Beautiful, haunting face. My dear departed Munchkin used to drink that like too! They probably all do it, we just don't always catch them!

Blue? Not really blue? Lots of catties can be "blue" but what is that? A form of gray or not-black? Either way, he's gentle, fun-loving, and handsome and that's all that counts.
