Larry says: When we went to pick up Indica, a tortie girl we were going to bring back to
Little Mews, our small rescue, she had just given birth to two kittens whom you've already met,
Zoey and
Teddie. But there's a surprising twist to the story! When we got to the woman's house who had rescued them all from their abusive owner, we found out that there was a feral cat in the neighborhood who also had kittens but had rejected them. But one survived. The woman put the newborn orphan near Indica and she accepted her immediately. There was about a two-day difference in their ages of the kittens. We brought all four of them back home and named the little orphan Rosie, from the Bruce Springsteen song "Rosalita." Indica raised her as one of her own, with able assistance from Mac, Chessie, and the other animals that live in our house. Like Zoey and Teddie, Rosie was adopted to a loving home when she was ready.
