arcanericky says: Meet three of our former foster kittens. These three were all from the same litter: Simeon (black and white), Porter (all dark), and Meritage. Two males and a female. They were all from the same litter and were found living under a covered car at the back of an old apartment complex. We let them live there (and therefore, let momma take care of them) until they got old enough that they were able to run out and play in the street -- at that point they were a danger to themselves and we had to take them in.
Meritage’s look earned her the name. Meritage wine is a blend of wine made of different grapes. She looked like a blend of cats, so she got that name. Since my wife could name a cat after wine, I decided I could name one after beer. Porter got his name after a type of dark beer. Simeon just got his name -- no history behind it that I remember.
All three were adopted but Porter had the most interesting story. A friend that moved to Florida adopted him. We kept him a few extra weeks (he actually traveled with us at Thanksgiving when we went to see family) until she (the friend) made it back to Texas. She bought a carrier and at the airport they made her take Porter out of the carrier at the security check at the gate. After Porter was out, she had a tough time getting him to go back into the carrier and thought she was going to miss her flight!
We had these three with about 15 foster kittens ago.
