Jill and Jay say: Hirohito was a rescue kitten found at six weeks old on the streets of Hartford, Connecticut. We have reason to believe his curiosity is probably what led him astray. This is probably the most curious cat we've ever come across. He watches the teapot until it boils and observes our bathroom routines every morning. He opens drawers to steal catnip (for his buddy Zissou) or just random crinkly bags. One time we saw him take a bag of 100 coffee filters from the drawer for no good reason. He also enjoys being cleaned with the vacuum or brushed with various things like a human hair brush or the couch de-linter but never a sanctioned cat brush. Hiro is not a lovey-dovey lap cat but he does come by at about 3:00 a.m. to demand pets and scratches. If you don't wake up for this ritual, he has been known to head-butt you awake or sit on your face. He can be found most mornings staked out on the bathroom floor hunting silverfish. He is a crazy, nutty little animal. We all now live happily in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Hiro is wonderful and you are so lucky to have him. Even though he looks cuddly, but isn't, his antics make him charming. Let's hear it for the fascinating kitties that don't need to flatter us.
What a soulful looking little guy. Kind of makes me want to ask him all the "dangerous personal questions" life brings with it. I would love to stroke his beautiful silky coat and hear his purr.
