The Orange Blossom Special [5]

Delina says: I wasn't really a cat person; my father would never let us have one we I was growing up. But when I wanted to get a pet, my landlady would allow cats but not dogs. So I picked out a cat that was "on sale" for half price at Heartland Humane Society in Oregon. It seems that they had a glut of all-black or black-and-white cats. I grew to like my cat, Montana, very much. So I started going back to photograph other cats. I used to just do it entirely on my own, but the employees saw me there so often that they thought I worked there. Ha ha! I don't work there, but after years of taking pictures there, I volunteered that they could use them on their Web site, for free. I am poor, as far as money, but that was a way I could donate to them without a lot of money. I enjoy making people mindful of all the beautiful animals out there in the world available for adoption.

This particular litter I called the Orange Blossom Special Kitten Litter. The shelter workers called them Gamboge, Umber, Coral, and Tangelo. There were actually five in the litter, but Russet, a little girl, got adopted while I was getting ready to take the photos. Gamboge, Umber, Coral, and Tangelo all got adopted too.
