Betsy says: My husband and I began fostering kitties last summer when a cat gave birth to two litters between April and July in our neighbor's yard. After our first two foster litters found new homes, we took in another litter in late September. This new group had been living in squalid conditions in a crawlspace beneath a crumbling home near downtown Richmond. The kittens looked to be about five weeks old when they came to us. They were chubby little things, with soft fur and personality plus. Four were grey-and-white tuxedos who looked very much alike, making it difficult to tell who was who. Audrey was the runt of the litter and the only all-black kitten in the bunch. She was quite shy, yet very loving and playful. She rapidly became an avid lap kitty, crawling up for an after-supper nap most evenings. Like her namesake, Miss Audrey Hepburn, our Audrey is sleek, petite, and ever so elite.
