Yoda probably crawled up into a vehicle motor and fell out by the local gas station. When I saw him, I was coming up to the stoplights and I saw a piece of black something blow out of the gas station parking lot onto the highway under a pickup. I realized it wasn't a scrap of cloth or a bag but a kitten. The pickup bowled him over and he rolled between the tires and ran the rest of the way across the road and into the grass. I pulled over and ran to see if he had been hurt. He was a hissing, snarling little ball of claws, so I got a drawstring bag out of my car and went back to where he was desperately trying to hide in the grass. His little face was pushed into the ground and he was panting and shivering. I held the bag open in front of him and reached out and stroked his fur. He bolted into the bag and I pulled the drawstring shut and carried him to my car. He was so tiny - I figured 7-8 weeks - and so scared. I opened the bag on my lap and petted him through it all the way home. He was obviously a barn cat and not used to people as he was very wild and hissy, but it didn't take long and he became tame and loving, although he was a little stinker when he wanted to be! He was healthy and the pickup must not have hit him because he was uninjured. I had him for a couple of weeks and then he went to live with my daughter and her 16-year-old cat, Friskey. Yoda loves to play with Friskey, but Friskey doesn't like to play with Yoda so much yet! He is coming around, though!
