Denise says: You've already met my Ranger and BG. But I always wanted a silver classic/marble tabby kitten, and I finally found one in a Craigslist ad. Some people had kittens from a stray country cat that they were trying to home. When I got there to meet my silver boy, I found they had his sister. She was already spoken for -- thank goodness because I'm at my absolute limit. I don't know what her name was or who adopted her, but I thought she was so beautiful and they allowed me to take photos of her. She was actually much prettier than her brother, but I wanted my silver. Does anyone have an opinion on what color she would be called?

Her brother is now in isolation in my bathroom being treated for roundworms. It's hard to get photos of him because as soon as I go in there he just wants to climb into my lap. I hope to show him off to everyone soon. ;-)

I don't know what her official color is called but I have to say that she is supremely divine! She makes the cutest expressions.

This little girl is gorgeous, and so photogenic! My best guess about her color is Tortiseshell, or Tortie; described as being "cloaked in the color of falling leaves in November with their interwoven patterns of red, gold, and black. "Torties" are like potato chips; once you've enjoyed one, you'll want more. Tortie cats are homebodies; they love their families, and are loyal to a "T" to the one who cares for them. Don't be surprised, though, if your tortoiseshell cat shows a streak of sass at times. That tendency is referred to as "tortitude," and is often found also in calico cats." We live with a darling little tortie girl named Gidget, and I can attest to the "tortitude." She has it in spades!

She is gorgeous! I have a tabby (my profile photo, Smooch) with similar colouring - she is that lovely mushroom and grey with orange as well. So maybe a tabby tortie? She is so beautiful, I can see why you wanted her too!

Beautiful! Hard to know what her coloring is called. Calicos have patches that are very white and torties are orange and black (or dilutes are cream and gray). She seems to be a combo! But whatever you call it - she is special!

OMG! They are both adorable! So totally irresistable!!!

She's a Torbie. That's a tortiseshell with tabby stripes. She's not quite a dilute as it is black and orange, rather than grey and cream. I'll say this - She is adorable!
Katriona -
Gah, I reread that and it didn't make sense. A Dilute either of tortiseshell, torbie or calico is grey and cream, instead of non-dilute which is black and orange (then white or tabby or whatever).

Whatever she is called, I am sorry she got away! The new owner is lucky indeed.. Let's see a few photos of the brother when he gets over the roundworm episode and then forget the comparisons. You love all your baby cats, right?

This is such a playful expression! She's trying to crouch down and "hide" in the crease of the couch. <3 What a cutie!

Boy, she is just *not* sure about whatever's up there. She's so cute and expressive! I'm sure she's hamming it up for her new home and making it a brighter place. I don't know what the official term would be either, but I thought "torbie" was very expressive. :-)

I think she's actually a torbie - that is a tortoiseshell tabby. I had a buddy similar to her.

I agree with momcatSooma, this little cattie is a tortie. I have one of my own and I can attest to the fact that they are very attached to their human family. She is so loyal. She can get testy with her brother, an orange tabby, if he wants too much attention. She calms him down by grooming him. She is absolutely gorgeous.

aw she is gorgeous, i believe she is called tortoiseshell or something like that ....still her eyes and facial expression melts butter ....adorable - thanks for sharing the pics, good luck with de-worming her brother !!!
Mary Brien -
I think she's referred to as a dilute tortie... we have a polydachtyl with dark tabby markings/white and just a hint of ginger amidst the tabby. They are definitely characters! She's gorgeous and so is her bro!

She is sooo sooo beautiful and soft... Just want to smooch that little face .. Congrads on such a beautiful furry baby girl... Enjoy...

She could have been the child of an orange dad and tricolor mom - but she is very cute. You can tell I am getting older - I am not so jealous of all the other cute-heads!

She has similar markings to one of my girls: a silver/brown tabby with bits of caramel mixed in, but all still keeping to the tabby patterns. Our vet told us the caramel coloring comes from a calico gene.
She is precious! :)
