Jasper

CareAboutCats says: I adopted Jasper from the local shelter. I went to find a buff-colored boy, but there sat Jasper, little gray boy huddled in his cage, looking at me with his soulful eyes. As soon as our eyes met, I knew I had to give him a home. They told me he was eight weeks old, but he seemed younger to me, and even now at close to 12 weeks he looks small for his age.

But no matter -- Jasper can be quite the fine hunter even though he is young. He pounces on feet and hands so I am teaching him manners by redirecting him to stuffed animals, which he plays with as if he were playing with one of his litter mates. When Jasper gets tired he goes directly to his kitty bed and takes a nap! Jasper must have been taken from his mommy too soon because he sucks on fleece and kneads as if he is nursing on his mommy. His soulful little eyes and tiny size had my heart from the time I first saw him and he has been a fun addition to our household. This sweet little boy has given me many smiles in the short time I've been honored to give him a home.

My family had a white cat that sucked on its paw; poor thing had probably been separated from its mother too. But Jasper looks happy in these pictures; just give him time and he'll probably lose the habit. Anyway, he is just darling!!!

Hmm, some cats keep this habit their whole life; my red kitty was separated from his mom when he was 10 weeks old, but he still sucked on my left eyelid, trampling and all. his whole life.

My cat Benny made some inscrutable comments here, so I had to wait till he left the keyboard! Jasper is a great little cat and I am sure he will find happiness with you. His name suits him--see "Jasper" in the dictionary.

That just means that they are very happy and content! My cat didn't do it for about a year and then just started doing it one day. So do not worry, it is a very good thing!

What a wonderful story - he is very handsome and quite The Cool Cat! You are lucky to have been charmed by Jasper! And he has certainly found a fabulous forever home!

He looks like my late brother Shippy who was just plain beautiful and bad. Jasper is just beautiful and I can say that because I miss Shippy and he makes me think of my cute bad boy brother.
