Betsy says: Ebony was named for her nearly solid black nose, in order to distinguish her from her sister Ivory, whose nose was nearly solid white. Ebony seemed to have a perpetual smile on her face, which I just adored. She was adopted by a family in September, but apparently was quite traumatized by the adopting family's two young children. Sadly, in late March, the family returned her to us. After being back with us for a week, she had calmed down considerably and was back to being the loving kitten we'd so carefully raised. Ebony is in the care of a new foster family for the time being, but we are confident she will find a forever home soon.

Poor little baby, how sad the children didn't know how to care for her properly. My cats are not keen on children either, and Smooch growls and runs away to hide as soon as she hears children! Ebony is absolutely gorgeous and I hope a loving family falls in love with her really soon. Her face just makes me want to cuddle her to pieces!
Ebony is a little beauty and I too love her "smile". So sad it didn't work out with the children, but I've heard that is common with the wee ones. We've taught our daughter from birth to be nice to the pets and now at three years old she's very kind to all animals. I echo Natthecat's request to find out what really happened to her.
Ebony is absolutely darling! Families with young children should teach them how to interact with kittens before adopting one, because little children can be very rough with little kittens if they're not taught how to handle them properly. Let's hope Ebony's next family will be more kitten-friendly! She deserves a loving home.
Torties are really "squirrely", I have one of my own and she is, so Ebony probably was not a good fit for a family with rambunctious kids. She is a real beauty and I am confident that she will find a loving furever home soon.
