Tex [redux]

Calinore says: One day a neighbour came to our door here in France asking which shelter was best for abandoned cats. My mother was sorry because she knew of no such place... sometimes cats get adopted from shelters but there are so many of them that a lot are put to sleep after only two weeks. The lady explained that her daughter had found a kitten on a parking lot. He had a problem with his paw and neither of them could keep him because they both had dogs in their houses. Without thinking twice my mother said she would adopt him. All the cats we have had at home have always been poor little things mistreated or abandoned. One was found in the subway. One was found tied to a tree. One came from a shelter and was already grown. (No one wants to adopt an adult.)

Anyway, the kitten arrived and immediately he was fed and installed in a room away from the other two cats. We took him to the vet to check on his paw and the vet said the leg was broken but nothing could be done immediately because he was so young. Gradually we introduced him to the other cats and he was allowed to discover the whole house. Now he is full of beans. He is an adorable cutie and he doesn't seem bothered by his leg... he'll be operated if necessary but mother nature sometimes takes care of such problems. My mother is an English teacher, and she went to United States many times because she has friends in Texas. That's why the kitten is called Tex.

I never understood how anyone could abaondon a kitten... they all are just adoreable, I never even wanted to give them away to good new owners *lol* And this one here is no exception... absolutely adorable :) Good to hear Tex has a good live now!

Paris is my favorite place in the world! I'm guessing little Tex will be a very happy indoor kitten since the streets of Paris are not too friendly for little ones.

I had a tiny orphan kitty many years ago who was left on my doorstep. My own cat had not long had kittens and she took him in and fed everyone. One of his front legs were broken and the vet said he was too young to give him an anaesthetic, so he bandaged the kittens broken leg to his body and he hopped around the house for four weeks. When the vet took the bandage off, his young bones had healed themselves. This was many years ago, and of course i got the mama and kittens fixed and homed the kittens with kind people. Of course i kept the orphan, teddy, and he and foster mama lived until a ripe old age with me. Nice memories... and the mama cat's name was the one I use on this website. Hope your baby heals too xx

Tex is a very lucky kitten to have someone care enough to help him in the first place and to find a forever home where he is obviously loved and well cared for. He is very cute. We took in a sheep with a broken leg and the vet said it would heal on its own and it did, so hopefully Tex's leg will too. He's adorable!
