Friday [redux]

Mary says: My husband and I lost our beloved cat, Figaro, in March. His passing was sudden and heartbreaking. He meant the world to us and we are so grateful to have known him and loved him. After he passed away, the house was so empty and lonely. We knew we needed a cat in our lives! It just didn't feel right not to have "someone" waiting at the door to greet us. We decided to adopt kittens. We knew that there are so many animals out there that need homes, and we needed an animal to love, so why not go ahead and bring some happiness back to our household? Figaro had been an "only child," so we decided to adopt siblings this time, so that they would have each other for company and to play with.

We found our kittens at the LaGrange, Georgia, Humane Society on April 17. Friday was still in the caged area napping with his mother and his brothers and sisters. When they all started waking up, I noticed little Friday's face. He had such sweet eyes and striking markings. He was the fuzziest and smallest of all the kittens and I asked if I could hold him. He was lovely and sweet! I knew we had found our kittens. :) We adopted Friday and one of his sisters, whom you will meet tomorrow.

My husband named Friday after one of his favorite TV characters -- Sergeant Joe Friday from Dragnet. Friday and his sister have been at home with us for nearly two weeks now and they are eight weeks old. Friday is getting bigger every day. He is not shy at all, he loves visitors, and he has already won the heart of his new veterinarian!
