matiescat says: So now you’ve met all seven babies. When I read your wonderful comments I wish that I could fly one or two kittens across the seas to some of you as you sound like perfect forever mommies! But you need not worry about these gorgeous babies. As you know, three of them have already gone to forever homes (Kittens #3, #5 and #7). Kitten #7 was promptly named "Matthewis" by his new family -- a very popular Afrikaans name for cats in South Africa due to a truly South African children's character cat with the same name (not pronounced in any way like the English "Matthew" :). Kitten #5 went with Matthewis and was named "Kerneels" -- an Afrikaans name frequently used to name cute and mischievous small male animals. I visited them on Monday evening and Matthewis and Kerneels have settled in well and are very happy. And today I spoke to a young woman who sounds as animal crazy as I am who is really interested in adopting the little black kitten (Kitten #4) as a friend for her two-year-old cat Sushi-May (hold thumbs). Yes, I know that would mean splitting up the salt-and-pepper set (Kittens #4 and #6), but don’t fret; Tuxedo Baby has this last week suddenly bloomed into a strong, independent little critter, and I have no doubt that he will do fine. I am however still adamant that Kitten #1 must not go to a home alone and I will keep on trying to then send her out together with Kitten #6 (or “Biker Kitten” as some of you playfully dubbed her for her tattoo-markings) as these two seem to be like peas in a pod these days! As for Kitten #2… you probably saw this coming, but… I honestly don’t know if I can let him go! He is of course a real little charmer who knows how to get mommy right where he wants-- every day when I get home he runs to me, stops right at my leg, sits on his back legs, and stretches his two little front legs up to me or onto my legs as if to say, “Pick me up, I want cuddles”! How on earth can I resist that!!! Thank you for letting me share this litter with you.

Oh, thank you for this extensive update - so glad you will be keeping kitten n° 2. Those names are so cute, as well, and it is fantastic to have been able to photograph them all together!

Love this photo of all these almost smiling and happy kitten kids. Am so glad you are keeping the little boy kitten. Perhaps kitten one as well so she has a sibling and a most familiar/loving forever home so she'll never have to be stressed. It was a great week meeting all the kids. Poor mama kitty had her paws full nursing seven little kittens. As for the tuxedo baby being so different from his tabby marked siblings, it can often happen that a litter of kittens can have more than one father. When I adopted my snowshoe and brother kittens; they came from a litter of five. There were four kittens with the Siamese/Snowshoe markings/blue eye color and one lone black kitten that didn't look Snowshoe at all. Their mama (unfortunately) was one of several outdoor cats so she could have had multiple sires. I felt bad leaving him behind with no siblings to play with when my two went home yet he at least had mom around. Glad the other kits are finding great forever homes too:)

Should have been, "when I adopted my my Snowshoe sister and brother kittens". They were very bonded earlier yet at age two they don't sleep together as much as they used to which is kind of sad in a way. Still characters tho:)

Wonderful series. Would make a great little book or even a Pixar movie. Thank you for undertaking this huge work fostering seven delightful kitties and, it seems, their mom. Happy Mom's Day, Matiescat! Bless your kind heart.

Wonderful story about all the adoptions of these tiny catties. This photo looks like all the catties are tumbling out of a big basket. So cute! You are a wonderful foster mom, and I am glad that you are taking kitten #2. I would be interested in what you are going to name him. Think about taking #1 also.

All of these photos are amazing! I was laughing out loud - I pictured this photo shoot to be similar to pictures with small children - someone is doing the wrong pose, or yawning, or not paying attention. ADORABLE <3 <3 <3

Thank you for sharing them with us! Such wonderful babies. You may have told us already, but is Mama cat yours or is she finding a new home soon? She looks like a sweet little person. Either way, I hope she is as loved as her kittens
