Mugs says: Cassidy is part of the growing pet population in our home, with a large dog, small stray dog, four stray kittens, two stray cats, and a pond full of fat fish. Cassidy is from a litter of four, from the original mama kitty Chloe. Chloe was a stray rescued from the streets. A month after they were born, we figured that three of them were male. Cassidy we had no clue; even the vets could not figure out if it was male or female. So we assumed she was a female and my wife named her Cassidy. And after a while -- boom -- she had extra parts popping out and "she" turned out to be "he"! But by then it was too late to rename her. So we let her stick with the name and we even still refer to him as a "her." Cassidy is accident prone. First, she fell off the first floor directly into our pond and survived. Second, she was run over and she survived. Third, she was bitten by a centipede and was poisoned, but with many visits to the vet and pumped with medicine she survived. Phew! Now her only goal in life is to wait for me to get home and give her a share of Whiskers. No matter where she is in the house, the minute my bike pulls up she is there in a flash with the other three chaps.

Please keep Cassidy and the other babies inside. Pets don't have an unlimited number of lives.

Cassidy looks to have some Asian cat breed genetics with his leaner look. Poor fella is using up too many of his nine lives having accidents. Thank you for taking him and loving him like you do:)

Thank you for taking all these unwanted babies in and taking good care of them! One cannot prevent everything, of course, so I am sure you do your bestest .

Cassidy isn't such a feminine name, so it doesn't much matter. He knows his gender and I how you get him neutered when he's of age. I just love his sweet pink nose.

Most catties do not like citrus. Looks like Cassidy is interested though in this photo. Lovely markings, please keep Cassidy inside, no catties should have to go through all he does to stay alive.

What's wrong with Cassidy for a male? As soon as I hear the name I think of "David", and "Butch" :)

What a cute little pussy Cassidy is! I think of the name as male, since it makes me think of David Cassidy. But that's just me (well, him).

BUT: If your vet can't determine the sex of a kitten, you might consider finding a competent vet. little boy kittens and little girl kittens are very different: you look between its little back legs and if you see a circle (okay, a little cone or semisphere) it's a boy. If you see a slit front-to-back or top-to-bottom, it's a girl.

Sweet story for your loved strays... Seeing the slight tan coloring on Cassidy's nose make me wonder if he might be a very rare male calico cat? Maybe that was why his gender was difficult to determine?

Cute kitty! I agree with ppl above, I think the name Cassidy can be both male or female but maybe you can stop calling him "she"

My first impression was calico+asian cat dna. Soon as it's time to neuter - they will figure it out but it is a very fascinating looking kitty. I know folks mean well - but people know their own situations and why do we insist on shaking our finger at other cat lovers. The cat wasn't eating the orange, they probably have a great vet...COnfused by the fact we can't just love seeing these cuties.

You almost seem proud that she/he is accident prone but always survives. Someday, if it hasn't already happened since this is Cassidy's third showing, he will not survive. Keep you pets indoors where they will be safe or rehome them with people who will love them enough to keep them indoors.
