The Abandoned Kitty League

Karen says: Meet the four members of the Abandoned Kitty League (AKL): Samson (buff colored), Simba (tortoiseshell tiger tabby), Tabitha (ginger tabby), and Moo-Moo Kitty (black and white). They are four siblings I volunteered to raise for adoption after a coworker found them abandoned at about eight days old.

Samson was Daddy’s boy. He loved to cuddle with my husband and had the loudest purr. Simba was a very loving kitty and the most adventuresome of them all. Tabitha was the sweetest baby you could ask for. Remember Sally's cat in the Peanuts comics, the one draped over her arm? It must have been a relative of Tabitha's; she would lie her back in my arms and let me stroke her chin and kiss her belly as she fell asleep. Moo-Moo Kitty was so soft and sweet -- and she still is. She is now my Princess Moo-Moo Kitty and will stay with me forever. Samson went to live with my friend Cynthia, and together they recently welcomed Socks and his family as houseguests. With the help of Paws Animal Rescue, Simba and Tabitha were also adopted by families who love them.

I am glad to have been able to help another living thing find love and happiness. My children also treat animals and people with love and kindness (I guess leading by example works...<>). My youngest wants to be a vet when he grows up.

Great job. Rescued animals are the only way to go. People should be ready to care for them for many years. My cat lived to be 21.

These kitties were a joy to have...at the time i was married and we had two dogs who also loved to come over and nose them as "feeding" time came around. My Moo became friends and boxing partners with two rescue puppies we found about 4 months after we found homes for her brothers and sisters.
I had them from around 8 days old to almost 3 months...it was hard to choose one to keep. I owe alot to the help and dedication and donations of food,services and health care to PAWS rescue here locally. They provided medical care, advice, house-calls for worms and other stuff and also supplimented our food supplies for both the kitties and the puppies. Wonderful people making a difference with one animal at a time...

You must admit though, the persians are the best (from what I've seen so far). We've got a ginger tabby and apart frombothering everybody (including the dog) has grown to hefty proportions. He's greedy, lazy- doesn't catch the rats and mice like he's supposed to. He kills birds intead, has also gotten into fights. This no doubt giving either himself, his breed, species and kingdom (for example) a bad name. Mind you though, he's not a kitten any more but was adopted six years ago. Simba was a name for him that crossed my mind but Ginger was the consensus (that's original)! I hope that this little fella (see inset) doesn't end up like him. I have 2 cats of my own, ones still a young curious girl and the other is an older lady who often glares at the younger one lol there names are Juno and July, i live in the country where people often drop out baby cats they dont want... idiots, July and Juno were both abandoned, July had siblings but they died......... i hate people who can just abandon babys and animals in general like that.

Within in the last three months two cats have turned up at our place. Both of them kittens maybe. The first was despatched to her new home not long after first appearing. She was tabby/white. The second is with us now given special care. She's black & white. For the record, one of our first cats was also B & W. I was five years old then and I called her Rainbow. She died the same year we got Ginger.

I have recently taken in an abandoned Mama cat, I noticed she was pregnant, & the weather was very bad out(cold & icy). So, my partner & I fixed her a little kennel up, we put an X-tra large pet carrier with blanket's inside the kennel,( which was big enough for a German Shepard itself)& made her as comfy as possible. Well, it was only a week later & we are now blessed with 3 new tiny addition's to our extended family. I am so happy we made it to make her comfy & warm for her delivery. All is well with Mama & babies. Babies are now 6 day's old. You as well have a beautiful bunch there. Everyone of God's little furry felines are a blessing!

I don't want to sound like I know everything, but I just wanted to note that sometimes a stray or feral mother cat will (I believe) abandon her kittens; it isn't always people abandoning pets. Maybe in this case it was; if so, those people should be heartily ashamed of themselves!!!!!
