Koobah [2]

Koobah was rescued from beside the interstate highway in Colorado by a woman with many cats. She said he wasn't very gentle with her little kittens so decided he needed a different home. I thought my 5 & 10-year old cats would warm up to him but it's taken years! They never would play with the poor little guy so he learned to play with toys -or me. He's gotten really big, now 20 lbs & 32' nose to tail! (~9 kg & 82 cm) He does need to lose at least 1/3 of his weight so I try to get him more exercise and less food but it may take a while...!

He's really a beautiful little guy. Gorgeous eyes and slightly fluffy hair. I had gone to get my first cat, wanting a pure black one, but I came away with a pure white one, instead. :-) He was so friendly and playful that it was just love at first sight.

I recently brought in a black feral cattie that I was feeding for two years. My two inside older cats shun Blutie and I fell sorry for him too. He plays and tries to fit in, and he makes himself comfortable in spite of them. He has been in for a year so I guess that it takes a while for friendships to develop. Your boy Koobah is so handsome.

He looks like he's got a lot of Maine Coon in him - and they get big. From what I've read, they also often live a lot longer than average - and are playful and sweet throughout their lives.

We have a goofy Maine Coon mix... he's huge (and still growing at 1 1/2 years old) - bigger than all but one of our other cats! Koobah's fur looks like his in each stage - and if he has a big beautiful plume of a tail (like our Angel), it's even more likely he's got a lot of Maine Coon!

Koobah is beautiful and I agree he is at least part Maine Coon but still a tad heavy even for a Maine Coon. Since this is an old post I hope your diet worked for Koobah. Black cats are great!
