Avarie says: In 2008 my six-year-old cat, Jack, passed away from feline leukemia. I had rescued him from a parking lot when he was only a few days old and bottle-fed him, so he was like my little son. He was the only boy in a house of seven girls (five cats and two dogs), so when he was gone I felt very empty. I had never "looked" for a kitten before (they usually find me) so I found myself getting very picky. Then one day on the Internet I saw a photo of a cat that looked just like Jack and I melted. It was then that I learned that Jack, the little feral stray I had rescued, was a RAGDOLL! I became obsessed with blue eyes, a pink nose, and lots of fluff. Soon I found the four-week-old ragdoll that would become my next "son." He was born one month to the day after Jack passed. Jaxson (an English name that means 'God has been generous') was too young to leave his mommy but I visited him every week until he could come home at ten weeks old. All my girls accepted him, and my dog Baby is always cleaning him and play-fights with him daily. It's so adorable. Jaxson loves to play and twice played so hard that he hurt himself and needed stitches -- a real Dennis the Menace! He is also extremely social and lovable and is always eating. But the best news is that Jaxson is in perfect health so he will be with us for a long time.

Jaxson is beautiful and I do remember him because he is really pretty and I remember his back story. Never get tired of reading stories about how we acquire our babies...maybe you should call this Good Morning Felines. Then everybody could post pics of cats or kittens and how they got them and what they mean to them.

Jaxson is so gorgeous. Although I don't believe in replacement cats, or cloned cats, I must say your story swayed me somewhat. I am glad it worked out so well for you and Jaxson. What astonishing saber claws he has in this photo!

I love when cats are sleeping in this pose - with their one paw draped over their head. It's sweet and funny at the same time!
