Michelle says: Nermie (named after Nermal from Garfield) was a three-week-old baby kitten that needed bottle feeding-- we pulled him from the shelter and had him at the same time as Minnie and Orange. Nermie was two weeks older. We fostered them all together and Orange totally fell in love with Nermie! Seriously in love with Nermie. When we decided to keep Orange, we adopted Nermie too to keep them together. But at age three, Nermie started spraying the house and litterally attacking all of the other cats. After three vets, we all came to the conclusion that he decided he no longer wanted to be in a multicat household. It was devastating; my husband was particularly attached to Nermie, not to mention Orange, who was totally confused by Nermie attacking him. We separated him in a bedroom and he calmed down. Eventually we found Nermie a fantastic home (rehomed him) where he could be king of the house.

Such a gorgeous boy! After Nermie was doing so well I am so sorry he had to be re-homed. A piece of your heart, I am sure, went with him. You can take comfort in knowing he is happy.

TigerPJ said it best and the same goes for me; "Such a gorgeous boy! After Nermie was doing so well I am so sorry he had to be re-homed. A piece of your heart, I am sure, went with him. You can take comfort in knowing he is happy." I have gone through a similar situation and know how heartbreaking it can be. We all do the best we can and then concentrate on those fur babies that can be together. As always Michelle, you and your husband are tops when it comes to helping cats:)

Oh my goodness, how hard it must have been to give this little guy up. It must help to know he is happy and in a better environment as to his "problem," though.

I remember Nermie. He is so cute and so different in his coat. I know how you guys love your cats and give them the best so I know how it hurt to rehome him. He was lucky he was with you. Some people would have dumped him rather than go through all that trouble. The story broke my heart for you the first time and it did this time too. He is so dang cute!
