Kitten in Nicaragua

mrtraveller says: I came across this little thing at a restaurant on the island of Ometepe in Nicaragua where it tried to climb up our chairs and legs to get to our food. Since this little kitten looked so tiny and skinny we felt sorry for it and helped it onto the table where it desperately (and with contented purring) ate the leftovers of our rice, beans, and fish! :-)

She's lovely! I wish you could have taken her home. I know a lady who smuggled a kitten into the US from Mexico on a cruise ship, not an easy thing to do!

I want to give kudos to the photographer. The photographs are well done and evokes emotion in the reader. I awwed at almost every photo. This little kitten has great personality. I pray that someone gives him a good home.

Maybe, the restaurant patrons will come to be so fond of the beautiful little thing that she will become a restaurant cat, keeping the kitchen healthy and the patrons comfortable. I hope so. I'm going to believe so.

I'm going to cry this poor little baby should have been found a home, I hope they just didn't leave it there, how horrible that would be. It's probably dead by now if they didn't find a home for it..How sad I hope its still alive and well.

When I was visiting Venice, Italy, I saw many other adorable kittens like this one. All homeless, all tiny, all adorable - and all too many to take home. Seriously, there were hundreds. Every day in the afternoon, I noticed women would come outside their houses and pour the remains of fish on the roads. The kittens (and cats) would run as if an alarm had clanged and eat their dinner. Rather than assuming the worst for this kitten, I prefer to assume that Nicaragua has many angels like tourists and "cat ladies" who will keep it content.

They better have taken her home, or at least found a home for her... stray animals aren't treated very kindly in places Nicaragua, especially around resturaunts, for fear of them carrying diseases/stealing food/bothering customers/etc... she is very likely dead right now, unless someone helped her. :(

One thoughtful person can do a lot towards the worlds suffering....At least she had something in her belly and was content.It would be hard leave that little kitty and she was very tiny....I hope someone there took her in....as it is hard to bring animals into the US inspections thank you for your kindness....cute kitty

She is a cutie! I choose to think that because you taught her that she could "win" food by being cute, she's been able to find food (and love) by hanging around the cafes. Cats can learn fast - when they want to!
