Pansy and Buddy

Karen says: I don't belong to a rescue group, I just foster kitties that seem to come my way. If they are taking kittens to the animal shelter or someone dumps them off at their home, I take them and put out my "Kittens" sign. Not a perfect system but our shelter only adopts out 20% (the rest are put down) so it seems like a better way to me. I hand out cards for our low-cost spay/neuter vet and strongly suggest they get them done. I try to do what I can.

Buddy and Pansy were among my first fosters and I couldn't give them up so they are now members of my family. They were found abandoned by their mom-cat near a local store when they were two or three weeks old and weighed ten oz. They were feral and hissed at me for a few days until they decided that the formula was okay. They are both sweethearts and I don't think they know they are cats -- just humans with fur.

I think I would have found it hard to give these two up as well! I used to have a cat called Fluff (yes, very original name!) who had the same colouring as Pansy - she was very pretty.

Good for you, Karen! You do what you can, and that's a lot, because a lot of kittens (and their future parents) are happier for it. These two are adorable - I especially love their little kung fu battle. :) Bless you for having such a big heart.

I would love to be a foster "parent" but my senior kitties will have nothing to do with the idea, I guess I will have to cross that bridge someday...and who knows, I may not be able to give them up either!!

These two are absolutely beautiful and adorable. You are doing a great service. Please send more photos of these two. Would love to see how big they get; i.e. whether it is angora or Persian heritage they have. In the meantime, they are definitely "AHHHHH" inspiring.

Buddy and Pansy are now 5-6 months old and getting huge. I think they might be part Maine Coon but don't know for sure
