Lena says: Hira is a very playful and happy kitten who loves to tease her brothers and sister. She has three extra toes on each front paw and one extra on each rear paw!
We have a kitten that's similar looking. It's short hair though, and it's coloring is different. My mom thinks it's ugly, but I still have high hopes that it'll look pretty when it's older. Especially now that I see how much a kitten can change. I hope it turns out as beautiful as Hira. Check it out on my profile under Mimi's Kittens.
Well, I *thought* I had sensed a theme with the names... But I supposed now that I think about it, there aren't too many females in the cast, other than Jasmine. If tomorrow's is a male, I hope he is named Abu!
Dad--a lovely pale ginger. What hath mom and dad wrought? I loved that you showed us the parents of this remarkable set of kitties. The genetics must be so complicated to figure out.
Question for folks who know more about cats than I do: I thought extra digits are a defect/inbreeding deformity (a la Hemingway's cats in Key West) but it seems these were bred at a cattery and are lauded for extra digits. Don't get me wrong, they're adorable as could be, but I am just confused on the breeding preferences.
Love the pale lips= she looks like she is smiling. She is gorgeous- the whole family is stunning. Do the kittens have homes? Also, the wiki article is great, and a mutation is not always detrimental, as in this case!
Love this beautiful Tortie and she appears to have more extra toes on the front paws than the others. I love the long haired catties and Hira's markings are lovely.
Thanks for the nice words about Hira and parents! -Nefenjo...Prinsesse Jasmins mor; Sultaninden af Agrabah – Hira:)From Aladdin and Princess Jasmin's wedding.
