I picked him out of a 4-kitten litter at the local animal shelter when he was 9 weeks old. What set him apart from his siblings in the cage was that he was the only one whose whiskers were also black.
He's now full grown, and still somewhat skittish (ok, ok... he's just VERY alert!), but he provides vast amounts of amusement and cuddles. He has a very unique purr (it's not a normal rumbling sound like most cats) and he can be rather vocal. He also enjoys climbing pretty much anything taller than he is (window sidings, doorjambs and the like). While half the size of my other cat, he is definitely the alpha kitty.
He also fully believes that any set of stairs were designed by NASCAR and absolutely MUST have the inside track, going up or down them (not to mention he *has* to be at the top or bottom before anyone else).
