Angie says: My family lives in a small village in Norway. Storen, our grey tabby, was a rescue from a neighbor of my brother-in-law who could not find homes for the kittens born to his cat. He owned the father and the mother was feral. Storen means "the big" in Norwegian, and he was named by my son who was two when we took Storen in. Storen was very shy at first, but warmed up to us and became very sweet, fun, and tolerable of a little boy running after and catching him all the time. Sadly, we lost Storen last fall. He was hit by a car, presumably in our own driveway which is shared with four other houses. He was only a year and a half, but I still feel the loss deeply.

He is stunning! It is sad that he passed away so young. Right now though I believe he is in heaven, worshiping at Jesus' throne, and watching over you too.

What a cute and very expressive kitty! I'm so sorry to hear he didn't make it back inside to you that sad day. I've learned to keep my cats only inside unless i'm out with them after a sad loss also. :{ Another would LOVE that opportunity with you!

Storen is absolutely gorgeous and what a shame he didn't lead a long life, but at least he was loved while he was part of your family. I love his markings and his expressive face. It was hard to choose a favourite as they are all gorgeous.

What a wonderful, expressive, beautiful face! No wonder you miss him so dearly. I only had my little boy for nine months and I still miss him dearly. A good cat knows how to make an impression in your heart. :(

Storen was a lovely little tabby, who could have lived a much long life if he had been kept as an inside cat, instead of being allowed to run outside. I'm sorry you lost him, but that's the way many outside kitties die - by cars. They're safer inside.

Storen was a really handsome cattie. I hate sad stories though and maybe if he was an inside cat, he would still be alive today. I am so sorry for your loss and losing a special family fur-friend is so hard to do.

Thank you for for the kind comments. It is a nice tribute to a wonderful cat. He was called “the big” though he was smaller than his sister Gaupa. My son still misses him, half a year later which is a long time for a nearly four-year old! He was very dog-like and loved to play footy (soccer), forgot to add that.

What a sweetie! So very sorry that you lost him! It must have been very hard for you. I never let my kitties out - I live in a large apartment complex, I'm so afraid that they will get run over. I hope they are happy inside!

As I've said before, I lost a beloved cat to coyotes. So, so sorry about your kitty; I guess one should try to keep them inside unless one can be supervising them while they're outside; I know it's hard, though, when they're just at the door yowling to be let out and just won't be told "No"! That's the way Jerome was...!!!

Two of my boys got hit by a car at the same time this spring when the highway detour went right by our house. I miss them so much that I get tears in my eyes when I think about them. Yes, they are safer inside, but sometimes they are so miserable cooped up and want to be outside so much that it seems crueler to keep them inside. I just wish we both could have them back.
