Kathy says: Elly's rescuers heard the sound of a kitten loudly crying but struggled to locate it. They tracked the sound to a large bougainvillea bush so they placed a bowl of kitten food inside of it and soon the crying stopped. The next morning they went out to search again and found a little dilute calico deep in the bush! She was delivered to a volunteer with
Stray Cat Alliance in Los Angeles who named her after Elly Ameling, the opera star.
He fostered her for a few weeks but couldn't keep her forever so she came to stay with me in the hope of helping her learn to like humans as much as she liked other cats. We wanted her to show more interest in humans at the adoption events so she'd get picked to go home with a new family. She did so well bonding with the humans and cats at my house that there's no way we'll let her go. Another "failed foster."
