Mare says: I adopted Mia and her brother Morris from a shelter in Los Angeles when they were about five months old. They are brother and sister, with drastically different personalities. Morris (shorthair) is more the guardian, protector, and loving lap kitty. Mia (longhair) is much more reserved, anxious, and aloof. Morris will be the first to jump on your lap and give kisses. Mia, however, will wait until everything is calm and no one is moving and then she'll crawl up next to you on the couch, usually just at arm's length. Even their choice of toys is drastically different. Morris loves balls and toys with lights, while Mia prefers fleece blankets and things with feathers. Before they were comfortable in my apartment, Mia would curl up by herself in a corner, and Morris would run up to her and wrap his arm around her and they would sleep like that all night. If you're looking to adopt, don't overlook the older kittens at the shelter. They are wonderful!

Bless you for adopting a bonded pair of older sibling kittens. Mia is a stunning little girl. I really wanted to pick the photo of the two of them all cuddled up yet I couldn't resist Mia's beauty. Hope she relaxed more as she got older. Give them both a gentle kiss for me:)

I love that you kept them together, so many only think they need one Cat or they do not bond with you, as you know that is garbage !!!!These 2 are priceless!!

How could any kitty be more beautiful, cute, and tempting to hug?! What a little doll. And that was very moving about Morris going up to her when she was in the corner by herself that first night and putting his arm around her.

Wonderful story. Isn't it amazing how they have completely different personalities? And thank you for stressing about adoption shelter kitties. There are too many homeless kitties even without the breeders.

Beautiful bonded pair! Thank you for reminding people that the older kittens are worth having. So often they are overlooked for the little ones with their big eyes and straight up little tails.
