Sandy and Matt say: Hazel and her brother Manny were feral kittens picked up by the county animal shelter. Unfortunately, the shelter tends to put feral cats and kittens to sleep, so we offered to foster and socialize these two kittens. They were not friendly at first, very hissy and scared. But with persistence and turkey-flavored baby food, we were able to win them over. After a few weeks, they were normal, social kittens. They loved playing with toys and romping around the house and following our three cats around. Hazel developed a bit of a crush on our six year old Himalayan, Edmund. He was not amused.

Once they were big enough and social and healthy, we returned them to the shelter, where they were quickly adopted. The experience was so fun and rewarding that we have gone on to foster two more sets of kittens, and plan to continue to foster. We jokingly refer to it as the Kitten of the Month Club. Our cats, ages 11, 10, and 6, are even getting pretty good about having kittens around.

Being foster parents has given us the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many animals instead of just a few. If you have the resources to do so, we highly recommend fostering with your local rescue groups. It has its ups and downs but overall is extremely rewarding. :)

Good for you for fostering kittens, keep up the good work! I have a neighbor who goes out in all kinds of weather to feed ferals, then captures them (humanely), socializes, neutered/spayed, vet checked and healthy, and then they get all adopted out!

I love these kinds of kittens do they have a home?
I live in Wyoming and I had a simesee cat but when he got older he got feline aids and lukemia so I had to put him down.

I have severe health problems otherwise I would be fostering cats and kittens all the time. You are wonderful to make this sacrifice. Look at the pictures-they're certainly worth it!

OMG, those eyes! You guys are wonderful - I have 5 adopted kitties of my own, (I had 6, but one reecently died at the ripe old age of 19), and they brighten every day for me.

AWWWWWWWW! I just want to cover her with kisses! My baby is a lynx-point birman, he looks very similar to the himalayan, so when I saw this little sweetie, she made me think of my Momo.

I love cats. They are adorable big or small. They could be adults or kittens, and they still are cute.Siamese are beautiful. I've had a Siamese her name was Cookie.She was scrawny and had barely any fur.She almost died on me, but I brought her back to life. *Laugh* My Parents took her in and re-named her Cocoa. She is now fluffy and healthy.

She looks just like my foster kitty, Loki. He's not a foster kitty anymore. He almost died and I just couldn't give him up. I did find a home together for his brother and sister, though. We found them when they were 3 weeks old. He's 4.5 months old now and thinks I'm his mother!
