One thing though -- she did not tell us she was knocked up! As she got bigger and bigger, we got ready for her birthing, but one night in April she left in the middle of the night. We looked everywhere for her, but to no avail. Then about a month later, I saw her sneak into house and slink upstairs with something dark in her mouth. I opened some doors and waited and eventually she brought home four kittens. :-) Three boys and a girl. We raised those four kittens in the spare bedroom she put them in. We had a blast! Socks was a very sociable boy. Layla was the only girl and did everything first. First to eat solid food, first to use the litterbox. She also look very much like our cat Sweetie who we lost to cancer. They were all really so playful. When the kittens were about four months, GinGin decided she wanted nothing to do with them and she moved away. She's back to being wild and lives about five houses down the block from us. I've seen her only twice in six months. (She hit me up for free spaying and kitty care... no problem...)
Socks went to a great home with my coworker and got a new name: Nugget. Polar Bear went to a friend of a friend and is now growing up with a small dog. I hear he has developed into a Siamese like his mom but has his dad's tail -- it's ringed like a raccoon! We kept Layla and Max and they are now part of our happy family.
