Cindy says: This is my cat Precious’s first litter of kittens. They are four weeks old in these pictures. The kittens were not intentional, but we love them all the same. Precious was a birthday gift from my girls, so I consider her a gift that keeps on giving. The three little black-and-gray kittens were fathered by a Maine Coon cat, while the light gray and yellow kittens were fathered by a yellow tabby cat. I know because, well, a Maine Coon and a yellow Tabby were both caught "in the act" in one day... crazy, huh? I didn't know she would be capable of getting pregnant at such an early age (she was only about ten months old)... and three of the babies look just like the Maine Coon, and of course the yellow one looks like his daddy. :) They are all very sweet. The little black one with white socks is the most timid and lovable. The yellow kitty and little black-and-gray girl are very adventurous -- if you leave a door open, they will be on the other side of the house in no time at all! The light-gray kitten is very sweet and is very much a momma’s boy. Regarding homes for these angels, we have decided to keep the yellow kitten. My manager at work is taking home the little black-and-gray kitten with white socks, so I know she will be spoiled rotten and have a wonderful home! We will also find homes for the other three. Thanks for looking. I hope you enjoy!

Spay your cat; even though you're finding homes for them, that's several homes for other kittens at a shelter that have been euthanized.

I can't decide which photo I love more! They're all soooo beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing these sweeties and please ignore the comments from those who can't seem to grasp the purpose of this site.
Concerned -
They are very sweet litle kittens. But you need to clean their eyes with warm water and soft cotton wool. They need help with that at that age.
Kylie -
But it is irresponsible cat ownership not to know that at 10 months, precious can get pregnant. Not meaning offence and I can see she is loved. But its important for owners to make sure they know all the facts, to keep their pets safe and protected.
annoyed -
Stop giving her a hard time. It is obvious that Precious and her kittens are all well-loved and have a good home. There is no need to give Cindy a hard time or a guilt trip. It is not her fault that kittens are in shelters. Grow up, people.

To Peeved--

You're assuming that the new owners of the kittens would GO to a shelter to get a cat or a kitten. Not everyone does.

Cindy--they are so sweet :) But yes, definitely get your cat's fixed.

Alright, ya know, Peeved and the other person. This might be Cindy's first cat herself, so she may not know that her KITTEN could have gotten knocked up. When I first got together with my wife, she had some cats, and I knew nothing about them. 4 yrs later, I know a lot more, but still don't know everything. She isn't perfect, and neither are you two, so shut your yaps and do something constructive. This site is about precious, beautiful little kittens, NOT about flaming people.

Get a life, because if you have enough time to flame someone over some beautiful bundles of joy (and surprises) you need help. And don't forget, there are stupid HUMANS who get pregnant because they either can't keep their legs together or don't bother being safe. Should we spay or neuter THEM and harass the parents of the teen or adult who gets knocked up as a surprise? No? Oh, wait, must be different because humans are a "higher" species, right? Higher species my arse, at least other species don't kill other living things for the heck of it like we do.

oops, forgot to say, Cindy: They're absolutely gorgeous. They remind me very much of several of my cats when they were young kittens. And your furkid, Precious, lives up to her name, she's gorgeous.
Leonie -
Geez people, stop giving her a hard time. At least she's caring enough to try to find homes for the little ones instead of dumping them somewhere, or worse...
Kitty Girrrrl -
Every time someone's cat has kittens, even if they find a home, that's one less home for a kitten already born. There just aren't enough homes to go around. So yes, I agree with "Peeved", please spay and neuter.
Shelley -
Kitty Girrrrl, for every home found for a kitten, that's one less euthanized kitten. Take victories where you can find them.

Cindy, they're adorable.

For those complaining about the cat not spayed or neutered yet: Recommended age at which to do that varies from breed to breed, Most plain old domestic cats get that at about 6~8 months here in the netherlands. And well, stuff just happens. Quite complaining about it! In fact, many people won't even consider getting a cat from the shelter untill they had one that is no more. I did consider but they had no cat that really 'matched' me. I got the old cat from an acquaintance of my parents. It was either I take the cat or she would be brought to the shelter.

The kittens are so cute and lovely! ^^ Also good to hear they all will find homes when they are old enough :D

SOOOOO CUTE!!!!! I've never owned a kitten this little, I can't imagine having so many in my house at once! I think I'd have to quit school until I got over the cuteness, I could never stop cuddling them! I'm upset at all the negative comments posted above, I'm sorry Cindy that this is what you get for sharing the kittens' story. If you'd said the kittens were deliberate, no one would be giving you crap like this. It's a shame how judgmental people can be! Good for you for being a responsible person by finding homes for them, despite the kittens being "unintentional". They are all so sweet!!!!!

These kittens are adorable, and I think that its great that Cindy is trying to find them loving homes instead of dumping them on the side of the road like so many people do. NO ONE is perfect and the people who are criticizing her need to just stop. There will ALWAYS be homeless cats and kittens in shelters because there are far too many people who make the statement "its just a cat" like they are worthless. Instead of bashing on people who are actually trying to HELP kittys we need to spend our time trying to educate fools who do not realize the precious value of these felines lives.

These babies are cute. I agree enjoy the babies, argue later. Yes, cats/dogs/bunnies should be 'fixed' and acidents do happen. My acident is now almost 15, along w/ the 2 older 'planned' ones, she the best thing that ever happened to me. Along w/ all the cats/bunnies/dog/horses/hamsters/snakes and dragons that have come into my life!

Or as early as 7 weeks. :( The shelters did that to both of my kids before adopting them out. While I agree that spaying and neutering is important, I am also against the practice of doing it that early in a kitten's life! So, there is a flip side...

And on to the topic we should all be on, CUUUUUTE CUTENESS. The one of the little baby at the top with Mommy is one of the most beautiful photos I've ever seen!

Cindy: Very very gorgeous and adorable kittehs!

To the people who are unhappy: I'm sick and tired of seeing GET YOUR CAT SPAYED and YOUR RUINING OTHER CAT'S LIVES... that is so stupid. Personally I blame the shelters for these problems. There should be no such thing as a shelter that kills their animals. Why bring them in if you're going to kill them a week later? People also need to remember that cats were once wild animals and some still are. They can live just as well outdoors as they can in your lap. So maybe the shelters should just let some of their cats go instead of killing them.
Cindy -

I know Cindy and I can say she is a responsible pet owner. If she cannot find homes for them they will always have a home on her farm. By the way, Cindy, those kittens are just beautiful and look full of personality. Some people just have to complain to feel like they're important. Getting on a site and spending all of 30 seconds to lecture someone else well there are a lot more things they could be doing with just a little more effort to make the world a better place this is not it.

Everyone has their own view of things. These kittens are blessings. Yes, there may be kittens being put to death in a shelter somewhere, but that isn't any one person's fault. If you want to blame someone, blame the people who just throw their precious pets out in the street to fend for themselves, instead of finding them good homes or taking care of them. Yes, ultimately, you should have your pets fixed to help prevent irresponsible people from adding to the problem. And I'm NOT calling anyone here irresponsible. Instead of placing blame maybe we should all combine our efforts to HELP the shelter animals so they WON'T be put down!!!

Ohhh come on people! It was an accident! At least she is being responsible and finding homes for
the kitties! And some people who get one of the kittens wouldn't go to a shelter. My cat slipped right between my brothers legs when I left him to kitty sit my 8 year old tabby. She wasn't spayed, but she has never acted like she wanted to go outside, becouse when we got her it was from an abusive situation, and she was always a scardy to loud noices. So anyway, she is prgnant, and my sister is gonna get one of the kittens, and there is NO way her husband would let her get a kitten otherwise! My brothers are each getting one, and they would NEVER get a cat. It is becouse our cat has been kittensat by every one, and has been in the fam forever... it is like a REEEALY special thing. So BIG DEAL! It was an accident and even though you should spay/neuter your cat, you sometimes don't think about it. The kittens are adorable! And spaying/neutering then at 3 weeks(!) is absuloutly absurd! I love kittens and mine are due tommorow. I love all the pics Cindy! I understand how you feel (Or pretty close) I can't wait for my kittens! And now, my sister and brothers will probably adopt when the cats pass away. So technicly, we kitten havers are helping the shelters!

Beautiful kitties. Is it me or are the pictures are -around- 4wks old? The perky ears and flat ears make me wonder about their age and then "Awww..." I remember how wonderful scratching those ears are.

About the fuss, she has learnt her lesson. It is not like anyone out of the blue is going to want one like at a shelter. Serious cat lovers want to know the Mommy and the temperament of the babies. She has started the quest for homes and will probably inform them about the whole "whoopie" issue.

Now YOU can go get a shelter cat. My cats come from loving homes. There is no chance of a kitten dying out of the blue from ailments like cancer, rabies and FELV.
mel -
WSL-i volunteer at a cat shelter. believe it or not people come in for...kittens! and, shockingly, the interested new parents don't ask about the mom of the kitten. most of us volunteers never met the mother because these kittens are usually found by someone that brings them to a city shelter. just before death, the owner of the rescue center where i work picks them up and tries her best to get them adopted. also, ALL of our cats and kittens are spayed/neutered and given the 3 series of shots for the ailments you mention above. most adoption rescues follow this protocol. learn a little bit more about this before you give false information.
Cindy -
Ann G: Why in the heck are you on this site? What is so wrong with having a litter of kittens that are all going to wonderful homes? This is a happy website to spread the joy of kittens, not one for name-calling and rudeness.
Kylie -
The point of the site is for people who love cats!!! And don't want to see ignorant people keep producing kittens that need to go to shelters!!
AND what serious cat lovers want, me included, want a kitten that is playful, cute and loving. This can come from anywhere! Including a shelter. In fact serious cat lovers want to save and help kittens that otherwise wouldnt have a home. All because because people don't get their cats fixed!!
Cindy -
I am not ignorant and am a big time cat lover. Yes, my cat got pregnant and I am doing the responsible thing by giving them to wonderful homes. I do plan on having her spayed, but just because the accident happened, do NOT fall into the ignorant category. Geez... maybe it was a mistake to share my beautiful kittens with some of you people. I'd also like to point out that more people would be spaying/neutering their cats if the vets and clinics didn't make it cost an arm and a leg to do the responsible thing. In Edmonton, Canada there is a spay/neuter clinic. When I first moved up there with my wife 4 yrs ago, males cost $35 CAD, and females cost $60. Now, 4 yrs later, males cost $120, and females cost about $160. And that's in only 4 years. They're barely cheaper than a vet now. Recently I moved back to the States so we can work on my wife coming here. I live in OH. I rescued a beautiful white domestic shorthair mixed w/ Siamese. He's about a year old or so which is why I've not put him on here. Anyway, in my town, I can get him neutered for about $40 or so, provided I'm low income. In Columbus, OH (the nearest major city), I can get a voucher to get him done for $10 + another $7 for shots. Quite a big difference in pricing from Canada, isn't it? So finances can be a problem for many, and it doesn't help that pet insurance often does not cover spay/neutering, and it SHOULD, same with vaccinations, etc. I hadn't even known there was such a thing until about a month ago. All of my cats in Canada are indoor cats, and if we only had females, due to cost, we probably wouldn't get them spayed. Why? Because they never ever leave the house and the cost is so much it makes it prohibitive. We have 1 female cat, 5 males...all males have been neutered, Flame hasn't because of the cost.

@Sambo's Mom

Sorry about that. We added a new feature to our web site today and in the process of updating the database some comments were lost. It had nothing to do with the content of the comment. I've now restored the comments from the backup (if I've missed any please let us know).

BTW, the new feature allows people to add their own kittens to our site. If you look at your profile page you'll see that there is now a link to add your kitten to what we're calling the "Klub".

We weren't planning on announcing this just yet but if people want to give it a try and let us know what they think we'd really appreciate it.

Again, sorry about the deletions.

I see that some pictures show running eyes and nose, this is not for criticism but advice: Keep an eye on thier eyes so that they don't get infected! A young cat mother doesn't always manage all kittencleaning by herself, then help her out with some soft tissue and water. As you really seem to be a loving and caring cat person, I guess it's already taken care of? Adorable little ones!

mel- Many kitties featured here have died even though they were foster kitties and well looked after. A proper parent needs to know about the Mommy - every cat book I own (well, the ones who talk about rearing kittens) say know the Mommy. I understand a lot about my two boys by studying the Mom everytime I saw her. I got them early because I noticed a change in her attitude - mine are great kittens but the others are tiny adults who don't cuddle. Where I live the mantra you are quoting from your shelter doesn't exist. Your shelter does things the RIGHT way right from the start, ours don't.

kingarthyr- You seem to be with the Canadian feline wavelength too. You never find a cheap clinic until it has shut down. I paid $107 at Ottawa's clinic for a female and $75 each for my males. The only reason I got the boys done early is because I managed to grab a cancellation appointment. Otherwise I'd have to call back every 3 wks to check on getting an appointment.
