Snugglemuffin

Anna says: I met Snugglemuffin when he was rescued by the owner of the shelter I volunteer for, Save-A-Pet, in Port Jefferson Station, NY. Snugglemuffin had been found crying, all alone, in a closet in an abandoned house. When he was brought into the shelter, shivering in the corner of a gigantic cat carrier, I couldn't bear to leave him in there. And he needed a cuddle. I held him, fed him, loved him, and photographed him until his assigned foster mother arrived at the shelter a few hours later. And it was my great honor to feed him his first bottle of KMR (Kitten Milk Replacement). It took him a while to get the hang of this new milk-delivery system, but he was a very enthusiastic about learning. The poor baby was so hungry.

Snugglemuffin will stay with his foster family until he's two to three months old, or however long it takes for him to weigh three pounds. Then he will be neutered and put up for adoption, and at some point along the way he will get a more dignified name. Snugglemuffin isn't his official name -- his foster family will choose that -- but I had to call him something while I spent the afternoon with him, and I think "Snugglemuffin" describes him perfectly. He's cuteness personified! He's a good, strong, determined kitten, and I think he's going to live long, prosper, and make some lucky person an excellent pet.

Creamy boy kittens are my favorite! I do not live far. If I didn't already have two, I'd adopt him in a heartbeat! And I love his name too.

Definitely a great name for this adorable. Wish I could take it. But 2 kitties is my limit at the moment. Bless you Anna for giving this little one a new start after its cruel abandonment. It will make somone VERY HAPPY once it's old enough for a Forever Home!!

The old saying that good things come in small packages is so true in this case. What an adorable cattie, and so brave to be on his own abandoned in a closet. People can be so cruel sometimes. I am glad that this precious catttie is getting foster care and I know he will be adopted soon.

Dear Friends--You will find out if I am successful or not, of course. True, I have cried me a river over my fur friend Nat--even before he died he was sick for months , and he gratefully let me nurse him. Oh, oh, I am crying again.

I wonder if the mother was putting him into or taking him out of the abandoned house, and then wasn't able to get back to him.
It would be neat if the foster family could get us posted with pics on his progress.

Natthecat, I hope you get this cutie too. I'm on L.I. also, but have my own rescue cat, as well as a husband with HIS own cat, that wont allow me to bring another. Rescue cats are THE BEST!

Yes, Snugglemuffin has been with me since the end of July--he had every kitten malady he could come up with
--resistant coccidia, severe diarrhea, failure to gain weight, conjunctivitis. By the time he was photogenic enough, he was too OLD for this site, as I was told by Daily Kitten. Nevertheless he is the most beautiful and loving and amusing cat ever. No mistake. And he spends much of his time picking up the naughty tricks of my other kitty, adopted at the same time, a black cat called Pixel.
