Brody

Beautiful! I love black cats. Once had a kitten much like Brody. Midnight had one white hair on his chest that eventually expanded to a perfect blaze marking over his breastplate.
Unfortunately, Midnight was the only cat I ever knew who enjoyed chasing cars. We tried to get him to stop, but he wouldn't. Keeping him inside just made him angry.
So, we let him have the freedom he wanted, and, alas, he went out the way he wanted: He caught a car moving at slow speed, got his claws locked in the tire's sidewall, and then was smacked into something hard when the car sped up.

this cat is "very nice"!

Seems to me that this kitteh very, very much likes cozying in blankets and woolen sheets. Aaahh. It's like, this'n would enjoy a "cat spa". Aaaahhhh. Makes me want to book a spa appointment right now. . . . NNNnnnnsszzzz. Ooof! Wake up! I'm awake.

Because it's what Midnight wanted to do. I'm serious when I say he chased cars. Sometimes he'd get so excited that he'd try to chase two cars going opposite directions.
(He also left some serious scars on the neighbors' Rottweiler who didn't seem to understand that cats are dangerous. Midnight went for the throat. I think that's what got the Rottweiler's attention.)

Midnight was a warrior.

It would be wrong to remember him as anything less. To him, those cars were challenges -- giant creatures invading his territory. (Thankfully the Rottweiler learned from his first encounter.) To me, it's not as much sad as it is heroic.
How many of us get to go out in a blaze of glory? Most of us just whither away.
Cats are people too, and they have their dreams of glory. Midnight's dreams were just a little too big.
