What a handsome boy! And how unusual that the multi-colored kitty is the boy, and the two-tone is the girl. It's rare to see a boy kitty with more than two colors. They both are really just beautiful, and I love their long tails!

Can you explain to us what a life-style block is? I noticed in the pictures you put up yesterday that you seem to have sheep? It's so much fun learning about other countries and their styles of living and their cute names for things--like a "nest" of kittens, instead of a "litter" (which is what we call them here in the States). I like that expression so much that I've taken it on. Maybe I'll get a cute trend started to call litters nests now. :-)

Hi all, thanks for the lovely comments about my fur babies! According to Wikipedia a lifestyle block is: "A hobby farm (also called a lifestyle block in New Zealand) is a smallholding or small farm that is maintained without expectation of being a primary source of income. Some are merely to provide some recreational land, and perhaps a few horses for the family's children. Others are managed as working farms for sideline income, or are even run at an ongoing loss as a lifestyle choice by people with the means to do so, functioning more like a country home than a business."
We have just over 1 hectare (nearly 3 acres) and we have half a dozen sheep whose sole purpose in life is to keep the grass short in our steep paddocks! We live at Koputaroa which is 8kms from the nearest town (Levin) and there are a lot of similar sized properties nearby, although our neighbours across the road have a proper farm of 75 acres with beef cattle, and our land is bordered by another farm that runs sheep and cattle and occasionally crops. I don't have a good photo of his markings, but the shape on one side of Shelby looks like a seated monkey! He is asleep on the bed right now so yes, they are all pretty spoiled!

His Irish lookalike, Victoria, is currently snuggled up on a pile of clean washing too!!!! Ahhh!
