Mare says: I adopted Mia and her brother Morris from a shelter in Los Angeles when they were about five months old. They are brother and sister, with drastically different personalities. Morris (shorthair) is more the guardian, protector, and loving lap kitty. Mia (longhair) is much more reserved, anxious, and aloof. Morris will be the first to jump on your lap and give kisses. Mia, however, will wait until everything is calm and no one is moving and then she'll crawl up next to you on the couch, usually just at arm's length. Even their choice of toys is drastically different. Morris loves balls and toys with lights, while Mia prefers fleece blankets and things with feathers. Before they were comfortable in my apartment, Mia would curl up by herself in a corner, and Morris would run up to her and wrap his arm around her and they would sleep like that all night. If you're looking to adopt, don't overlook the older kittens at the shelter. They are wonderful!

Glad the two siblings were adopted together. Mia is a true diva while her brother is a creamsicle type with the sweet personality they are known for. They look very happy in their forever home:)

Mia is splendid, head to tail. We don't know what happened to her in the five months after birth to make her personality so different from Morris'.

What a soulful photo of Mia! I second @Katzenmother's comments concerning both of them being adopted together. I think they will bring out the best in each other, and Mia will always have her champion by her side. A truly beautiful pair...

My God she is superb. I pretty much love them all, but that is the key that opens the heart to the endless variants that make each cat so individual and special.
Mia is a classic example of this, and Morris is the same in his diametrically different choices.

I do not see happiness in Mia. I have no special access to her moods, but I see continuous anxiety in her eyes with their enlarged pupils, her folded front paws. Her beauty shines, yes, but I cannot feel happiness radiating from her. The newest commenter, #pattmarrob, picked up this soulfulness, and I welcome her to our roster!
