Penny

Jill says: Penny was one of the sweetest kitties I've ever met. She was a little orange tabby girl who was found all by herself on the side of the trans-Canada highway. We started fostering her when she was five or six weeks old. She loved to play with toy mice and crinkle balls. She especially loved it if you put a mouse in a shoe and then she had to figure out how to get it out. She also loved being carried around in bags! She got along really well with our two adult cats and would sometimes stalk them around the house and pounce on their tails. It was hilarious to watch 1.5-lb Penny chase my 15-lb cat around! We were very sad to say goodbye to Penny, but unfortunately we couldn't keep her and there were more kittens that needed help. I cried when we left her at the shelter! I had asked around to friends and posted on facebook but no one was able or willing to adopt her. Thankfully, after being at the Fredericton SPCA shelter less than 24 hours she got adopted by a friend of a friend. I really hope Penny is happy in her new home!

I also foster kittens..have 4 right now..and I know some pull your heart strings more than others. I wish I could keep them all but I can't so we have to move on so we can help save the next ones that need us. God Bless you!

I admire foster parents for the work you guys do and for having the emotional strength to let them go to new homes when it comes time. Not sure I could do it as I get way too attached. God bless you and those sweet kitties!

Such an irresistible face! She is stunning. I'm so glad she found a forever home, but do wish to know if she is happy. You are wonderful to foster kitties like this. I could never do it because I would love each one so much and cry every time I had to place one unless I knew absolutely for certain it was in a good home. I could never have left Penny at the shelter.

Great story! Proving that you can love them and then part with them so that someone else can love them too! I'm so glad someone did adopt her before her time at the shelter ran out! Whew!!!!!

I love her!!! She's beautiful. I know how hard it must have been. I've had to give up a few kittens when 2 strays I took in were both pregnant. I just couldn't keep 9 kittens. I only have 5 now. But it was horrible to hand the ones that I did over to someone. God Bless you for taking her in and helping her. I'm glad someone adopted her and that you get to visit with her many times. Thank you for sharing your story and your pictures of her.

This is an adorable kitty. I was heartbroken to read this story, until I read Penny, did find a forever home. I hope they will give her the love she deserves. She's adorable. I love her face, you just can't help falling in love with her.
