Michelle says: Ali, her two brothers, and her sister Penelope were all rescued off a sidewalk. Someone with good intentions had brought them in but sadly hadn't waited to see if momma cat would come back before doing so ( a lof of effort went into trying to locate momma cat to bring her in to nurse the kittens, but no luck). The two boys went to one foster home, and the two girls came to our foster home for bottle feeding. Everything seemed fine until they turned five weeks old when Penelope's heart gave out. =( We were devastated. This was the first time my husband had experienced a kitten passing in his hands. It was heartbreaking. We decided to have our veterinarian do a necropsy (an autopsy for animals). He found that her heart had defects and there was nothing that could have been done. While we felt better that it wasn't anything we could have prevented, we were still sad...but we know she died in our home, very loved. Ali (Aligator, rawr!!!) thrived and was adopted to a home with another kitty. Her brothers were adopted together and we saw a video of them riding on a roomba! Silly boys. ;-)

These are all gorgeous pictures. Hard to pick favorites. So sad about little Penelope but great that the others were OK. Little Ali is a darling.

Very cute photos. Ali is so charming with his poses. I am sorry about poor little Penelope's heart giving out. So sad. Glad Ali and her two brothers found homes.

What beautiful babies! Bless you for what you do! I fostered for 20 years and I still miss it but my disability stopped me. It is hard to lose a kitten and I cried every time but I wouldn't stop because someone has to love them and nature them and the good and fun so out weigh the bad!

Little Ali is beautiful, but I know he must miss his lovely sister. The necropsy was a very caring thing to do. The outcome will almost always add to the knowledge in the volumes of disease patterns the Small pet Vets routinely deal with. When nothing can be done we can only grieve and be thankful for those who; thanks to the loving care of people like #Michelle, who devoted to their vocations every day, help save hundreds of little lives.
God bless them all.
